This analytical technique is used to determine the concentration of specific elements in a sample, making it an essential tool for researchers, scientists, and industry professionals. The accuracy and reliability of AAS results are critical in making informed decisions, and therefore, it is essential to have a thorough understanding of the technique and its applications.
It is in recognition of the importance of AAS that the University of Calabar staged a comprehensive workshop on AAS operations, focusing on calibration, analyses, and heavy metal interpretations. The training brought together participants from various industries, government agencies, and academic institutions, highlighting the university's commitment to promoting collaboration and innovation.
The workshop covered essential topics such as industrial applications of heavy metals, sample preparation, instrument hardware and routine maintenance, calibration and analyses, and heavy metal interpretations and technical reporting.
By attending this workshop, participants gained hands-on experience with AAS operations and data analysis, as well as networking opportunities with experts and professionals from various fields.
The training enhanced participants' skills in AAS operations, calibration, and data analysis, making them more proficient in their respective fields.
The workshop concluded with the issuance of certificates to participants, marking the culmination of a successful event that brought together experts and professionals from various fields.
The University of Calabar's commitment to promoting research and innovation is evident in the success of this workshop.
The event was organized by Prof. Ebigwai (Central and Research Lab), in conjunction with the University Directorate of Equipment Maintenance Development Center, headed by Prof. Rufus Okoro. With its comprehensive coverage of AAS operations, this training has set a new standard for research and analysis in the field.
