APC Legacy Group Calls for Inclusion In Appointments, Elective Positions As It Endorses Gov. Otu for Second Term

The All Progressives Congress APC Legacy Group, Cross River State Chapter has convened a critical stakeholders meeting recently in Calabar with a communique highlighting key resolutions aimed at promoting unity and addressing concerns within the party.

During a meeting yesterday, the group expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Ntufam Senator Bassey Edet Otu, for his remarkable achievements in less than two years in office. The members prayed for the Governor’s continued strength, wisdom and knowledge to elevate Cross River State to the heights  envisioned in his people's first pact.



However, the  communique raised significant concerns regarding the perceived marginalization of APC Legacy/Foundation members within the party. The group alleged that since the influx of members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2021 has seen a considerable shift in party structure and appointments. They asserted that it has left  original members feeling sidelined. 

They reported that approximately 90% of the ward structure, 89% of local government areas and 85% of the state structure have been dominated by the new members. 



Laying claims that all three senatorial districts, six House of Representatives and 23 House of Assembly tickets were predominantly awarded to PDP newcomers and in the ight of these issues, the APC Legacy Group appealed to Governor Otu to allocate at least nine chairmanship tickets to its members in the upcoming local government elections to promote fairness and balance within the party.


While showing   support for Otu's administration, the group also pledged their loyalty to the Governor as they officially endorsed him for a second term in 2027. 


According to them, they believe that this endorsement will allow him to continue his valuable work for the state.The communique advanced  calls for all Cross Riverians, regardless of political affiliationto rally behind Governor Otu in his efforts to further uplift the state. 


The APC Legacy Group emphasised the importance of collective support in realising the aspirations of the people of Cross River State.

Teenager Commits Suicide Over Poor JAMB Scores

  19-year-old, Opesusi Faith Timilehin, has taken her own life in Ikorodu, Lagos State, after scoring 190 in 2025 UTME. Faith Timilehin took her own life in Odogunyan, Ikorodu, Lagos State on Monday The Deceased Teenager  The teenager, originally from Abeokuta, had been living with her elder sister in Ikorodu. According to family and neighbours, Timilehin was a calm and respectful young woman with high academic hopes.
