The South Ukelle Bridge Association (SUBA), has  paid a congratulatory visit to Dr. Lawrence Ekwok, the newly appointed Head of Department,  Mass Communication at the University of Calabar.

Leading a delegation of the apex progressive driven body in Southern Ukelle yesterday, SUBA president,  Dr Stephen Eguba  , extolled the virtues of the new helmsman of Mass Communication  as that which is replete with exemplary service and dedication to God,  educational advancement of Ukelle and humanitarian efforts.

According to Dr Eguba,  "you have distinguished yourself in service to humanity and your efforts have inspired us to believe that someone can even achieve much outside politics".

Engr Peter Onwe also eulogised and congratulated the immediate past President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Cross River State  for the effort sunk into several spheres of leadership positions including the new task he has been saddled with.

"You have inspired us and we are ready to follow your path. We have seen that dignity and hardwork pays. As a group we are grateful to God and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi for this appointment given to you"

Similarly, Chief Augustine Chokpa, a former president of the association commended the HOD mass communication for being a big inspiration to the body and the entire Ukelle nation.

"We are grateful for seeing us as your younger ones at all times and this inspiration is like an assignment you have given us to be diligent in service wherever we find ourselves. Thank you for the privilege and all you have been doing for us especially in helping us in the association. We are grateful in the firm belief that  God would see you through in this new role"

In response to the honour, Dr. Lawrence Ekwok expressed gratitude to the SUBA which has been in the forefront of advancing humanitarian services in Ukelle.

He said, "SUBA is a big encouragement to me especially in your effort in helping to alleviate the sufferings of widows and advancing the educational needs of young people through grants and scholarships. This is very endearing to me because education remains the key to the development of any society. Whether there are jobs or no jobs after graduation, it is better to be an educated trader or educated farmer than an illiterate one”.

Rev Ekwok urged SUBA members to continue to spread the message of unity and love among Ukelle people and urged those who are in politics to play politics without bitterness.

"As you do your humanitarian services, look at how to help committed youths advance their interest and assist them in any way possible in the interest of Ukelle as a people".
