Dr Julius Okputu Joins C'River Governor, Sen Prince Bassey Otu To Celebrate New Year In Adiabo, Calabar

Dr Julius Okputu, a member of the state Policy Advisory Council joined the Cross River State  Governor, His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Otu alongside other political gladiators, associates and well-wishers to Celebrate the New Year in Adiabo, Calabar.


At the event, Distinguished Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu and his beloved wife Rev.(Mrs) Eyoanwan Otu in the governor's ancestral home town Adiabo, Okpirikang in Odukpani Local Government Area. 


The visit of the governor which turned carnival-like, saw well-wishers, groups and Traditional masquerades displaying to the admiration of guests while cultural dancers, special presentations, age grade comraderie and volunteer services were not left out. 

While reacting to the well thought visit by the Governor, Dr Okputu expressed great satisfaction and appreciation with the show of solidarity and affections shown to the First Family his kinsmen, friends and well-wishers.


The state governor used the occasion to preach peace and sued for unity among Cross Riverians because such were the antidotes for meaningful Development and Progress. 


"They must be unity and love, I want all of us to join hands together, we must come together as a people to rebuild our state.


"My promise is that we will deliver the state. We will build a strong and egalitarian Cross River State that our people will be proud of.

"Let me thank everyone who came from far and near to celebrate this day with us," the governor said

In a heartwarming gesture, the Wife of the Governor, Rev. Mrs Eyoanwan Otu, generously distributed food items and clothing to women, youth groups, and other identified groups within the Adiabo Okurikang Community.


The member representing Calabar Municipality and Odukpani Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bassey Akiba, was not left out as he also joined to laud Governor Otu for his strong connection to the community and his genuine concern for the well-being of his people.


He said, the huge and colourful turnout was a true reflection of the spirit of sweetness flowing across the state.
